There's such a long list of great players who played for Michigan State football and Mark Dantonio that I had to make a second list. No, this time I bring the All-Mark Dantonio era defensive team. We all know he had a great offense during his tenure, but his bread and butter was defense.
Boy did he have some great defensive units during his time. That includes the very impressive 'No Fly Zone' from 2013.
I won't keep everyone waiting; here's who made the all-defensive team.
DE: Shilique Calhoun, William Gholston, Marcus Rush, Kenny Willekes
All four made their mark at getting after the quarterback. Funny enough, three of the four played with each other or were at least on the roster at the same time. Will Gholston was a big, scary pass rusher who didn't take anything from anybody. Shilique Calhoun turned into the Batman villain Bane when he was on the field. Not to mention, he was one of the best pass rushers in the Big Ten between 2013-2015. Marcus Rush always made plays, and in the biggest of moments. As for Kenny Willekes, he might be the best walk-on turned scholarship player ever.
Honorable Mention: Trevor Anderson, Joel Heath
