Week 1 is officially in the books for Michigan State football, and the Spartans are off to a 1-0 start to the season. Western Michigan didn't stand much of a chance with their two-quarterback scheme, and the Spartans' defense playing at a high level.

It didn't even matter that the Spartans' offense did absolutely nothing in the second half.

Now that the Spartans are 1-0 with plenty to work on, it's time to start looking ahead to Week 2's rematch from 2024 against Boston College. The Spartans are looking for revenge for last season's heartbreaking loss in the rain in Chestnut Hill in the final minutes.

A year ago, Michigan State was a clear underdog against Bill O'Brien's Eagles, but this year is a different story. Boston College may have dominated its Week 1 opponent (Fordham) 66-10, but the Spartans are a different beast compared to the FCS foe.

The opening odds on DraftKings have been released, and Michigan State opens as a favorite.

Michigan State opens as a slight 3.5-point favorite, and the moneyline odds are -155 in favor of the Spartans. It's almost a toss-up, and home-field advantage counts for a few points. Basically, Vegas is saying these two teams are matched up pretty well, and on a neutral field, it would be a pick 'em.

The Spartans have more than enough weaponry to make sure they exact revenge on the Eagles, and they won't have to worry about Thomas Castellanos this year -- he transferred to Florida State, where he just led the Seminoles to an upset over Alabama on Saturday.

This feels like a fair opening line for both sides.
