Jonathan Smith and Michigan State football are actively prepping for official visit season, but the Spartans can't help but look ahead to the 2025 season after four kickoff times were announced.

It's earlier enough in the offseason that we won't know all game lines or kickoff times, but some have been officially announced and Michigan State fans can gear up for some night games.

That's right, the first two games of the season will be in prime time.

Also announced with this schedule update is the season opener being on a Friday. This has become a tradition over Labor Day weekend for Michigan State but it wasn't officially announced for the 2025 season until Thursday afternoon. The Spartans will open the season on Friday, Aug. 29, against Western Michigan at 7 p.m. ET.

The next game will be on Sept. 6 against Boston College and Michigan State will give the Eagles a taste of their own medicine with a night game at Spartan Stadium with a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff.

The following Saturday will be the Youngstown State game at home and that one will be at 3:30 p.m. ET and the only other one officially announced is the Homecoming game on Oct. 11 against UCLA and that will be the only official noon game so far.

We'll hear about more kickoff times in the coming weeks and months, but for now, it looks like Michigan State fans will have to stay up late early in the season if they want to catch Spartan games.

Surely no one will be groaning about that 7:30 p.m. ET start in Week 2.
