Michigan State football continues to make splashes in the transfer portal, and the Spartans landed one of the more intriguing players so far on Friday.
Pat Fitzgerald has been posting the floating Spartan head tweet nonstop over the past week which is his way of saying he got another transfer commit. He’s up to about two dozen now, and only 20 have officially announced.
The Spartans have gotten some big names in the portal like Charles Brantley, Tre Bell, Rhys Dakin, Trent Fraley, Cam Edwards, and Ben Murawski, but on Friday, one of the more surprising commitments happened.
Michigan wide receiver Fredrick Moore committed to Michigan State.

Moore has spent the past three seasons at Michigan where he totaled just 15 catches for 160 yards and a touchdown. He came to Ann Arbor with high expectations, but he never quite cracked the regular playing rotation despite showing flashes of being a legit weapon.
In fact, the best game of his collegiate career came in the 2024 ReliaQuest Bowl against Alabama. He caught three passes for 37 yards and a touchdown.
Outside of that game and a three-catch for 38-yard performance against Arkansas State earlier that season, Moore was pretty much bottled up by the coaching staff and didn’t get much of a shot.
He opted to transfer during the 2025 season and he maintained his redshirt.
Fredrick Moore showed flashes with Michigan
It’s unclear what kind of role Moore will have in East Lansing considering he was used plenty on special teams at Michigan, but he did show flashes of being a legit offensive weapon for the Wolverines.
The redshirt sophomore played in 13 games as a true freshman and was named the Offensive Freshman of the Week three times for the Wolverines, per his profile. He was also a two-time Special Teams Freshman of the Week. He started two games as a sophomore and had a career game against Alabama.
At Michigan State, he could very well be used on special teams as he looked like one of Michigan’s best special teamers through his two-plus seasons there.
LeVar Woods, Courtney Hawkins, and Fitzgerald will have endless options with Moore. He could do a little of everything for the Spartans.
We love a player who crosses enemy lines to come play for the good guys.
