Michigan State football fans won’t be thrilled with the Maryland kickoff time

Michigan State football fans have had a nightmare of a year.

Outside of pretty much having every game at 3:30 p.m. ET or later, fans have had to digest a season that has included just three wins, but the team has none since mid-September. This losing streak has reached seven games, and there’s a good chance that Michigan State ends the season on a nine-game losing streak, effectively (potentially) ending the Jonathan Smith era with a thud.

Smith had all of his wins vacated in 2024 because an ineligible player reportedly saw action, so he could end his Michigan State career without a win.

Saying that Michigan State fans are checked out would be a massive understatement. Fans just don’t see the point in tuning in anymore, unless they’re gluttons for punishment.

Well, if you are planning to tune into the final two games, there’s a good chance you’ll be upset about the kickoff time for the season finale against Maryland at Ford Field.

That’s right, there’s another 7 p.m. ET kickoff coming down the pipe, and that means Spartan fans will have to wait a little longer for the end of this nightmare season that will conclude the fourth straight without a postseason berth.

For fans attending this game, it’s a positive kickoff time because tickets were likely purchased with the idea of spending some time downtown tailgating before the game. If the team was any good, this would be an electric event in Detroit.

Unfortunately, neither team is any good and this game will be forgotten by most.
