Yet another Spartan has earned himself an NFL opportunity as D'Quan Douse has gotten a look from the San Francisco 49ers after going undrafted this past weekend.

According to Michigan State football's official X account, the Michigan State defensive lineman was invited to partake in San Francisco's minicamp which reportedly takes place from June 10-11.

This was another guy who I expected to sign as an undrafted free agent somewhere shortly after the draft because of his solid showing in 2024 along the Spartans' defensive line. The Georgia Tech transfer didn't exactly stuff the stat sheet, but he had a really solid year with 25 tackles, six tackles for loss (a career-high), and a sack in 11 games.

In the four years combined before his Michigan State season, Douse had 69 total tackles, nine tackles for loss, and 5.5 sacks. He didn't get after the quarterback as much as fans would have liked this past season, but no one on the defensive line really did after September.

Douse has a strong 6-foot-2, 292-pound frame that could give an NFL team a body that's ready for action. He just needs to work on his pass-rushing techniques, but he plugs holes and is solid against the run. He was one of the biggest surprises for Michigan State this past season.

Jonathan Smith has shown that he can find solid talent in the transfer portal that is overlooked and Douse was a prime example of that.

Let's hope he can have more players drafted next year because there was only one Spartan selected this past weekend (also a transfer).
