The Michigan State basketball coaching staff has had a busy offseason to this point, trying to replace some big departing names like Tre Holloman, Jase Richardson, and Jaden Akins, but Tom Izzo and his staff are also looking to the future.

While many other teams have filled out their rosters for next season, Michigan State is looking for likely one more player and Spartan fans -- and coaches -- are hoping that's Darius Adams.

In the meantime, however, the staff will be headed to Lithuania, according to a report, scouting some international prospects.

After checking in with this report about how trustworthy the source is, he said that he trusts him completely and it's someone very close to the program. While I'm taking the first part of the report about the staff visiting Adams with a grain of salt because he's visiting Maryland and Georgetown this weekend, I do believe there's real chatter around the program regarding international guys.

We've seen international guys have a ton of success at the collegiate level in recent years including just this past season with Kasparas Jakucionis at Illinois.

Michigan State, too, has had some international prospects like Erazem Lorbek, Tum Tum Nairn, Mady Sissoko, Szymon Zapala, and Idong Ibok but no one quite as effective as Jakucionis of Illinois. And Tum Tum, Sissoko, and Zapala all played high school ball here in the U.S. which means they weren't quite the international prospects that the staff is currently looking for.

Adams is currently the top priority, but I can't wait to see the staff dip into the international player pool a bit more because it feels like that's a market that could help the Spartans massively.
