It's no secret that Michigan State basketball is one of the hottest teams in the country.

In fact, the Spartans currently have the longest active winning streak in the Big Ten at 11 games which dates all the way back to that loss to Memphis right before Thanksgiving in the Maui Invitational. They would bounce back the next day to beat a then-No. 12-ranked North Carolina team in overtime.

Since then, the Spartans have been thriving.

Michigan State doesn't have a ton of "quality" wins in that stretch but they've beaten two Big Ten teams by 30-plus points (Nebraska, Washington) while also downing Illinois. They are playing some really good basketball right now, but they're facing a gauntlet of a February stretch.

The Spartans are undefeated in the Big Ten through seven games and are just one of two teams in college basketball that haven't lost a game since Thanksgiving.

That's right, Michigan State and Duke are the only teams in the country that haven't lost a single game since Thanksgiving and there are only 17 teams in the nation without a loss since Christmas. That's an exclusive club, especially when you consider that only six of those teams are from power conferences.

Michigan State still has plenty of work to do, but it's a good sign that the Spartans are taking care of the teams that they're supposed to and if they do that from here on out, they should win the Big Ten title.

A conference championship and deep March run would cure a lot of fans who have fallen sick of the state of the program from 2021 through 2024.
