What an insane season it's been so far for Michigan State basketball. Right when you think everything is going perfectly, boom, the Spartans hit a skid and lose three out of four games.

The sky was falling just two weeks ago, but the current stretch that the team is on might rival the one at the end of the 2019-20 season when Cassius Winston led the Spartans to their third straight Big Ten title before the NCAA Tournament was sadly canceled. Michigan State has gone on the road to beat two ranked teams in this stretch while also beating Oregon and Purdue at home.

The Spartans have gone from potential 5-seed, at best, during the skid to high 2-seed. The run that they're on is one of the best in the Tom Izzo era and it might not be done just yet.

Michigan State gets Wisconsin on Saturday in East Lansing before going to Iowa and then ending the season with a home date against Michigan.

During this recent win streak, Michigan State has accomplished some feats that no team in college basketball has been able to. Just look at the feat Ben Stevens researched and found that Michigan State is the only one to accomplish.

That's right, 10 high-majors have won seven-plus road games this year and 10 have won five-plus games as an underdog. Michigan State is the only team to accomplish both.

Insane.

The Spartans have won three straight road games as an underdog, beating Illinois, Michigan, and now Maryland in consecutive games. They have also won three straight road games, contributing to this impressive feat. Michigan State also has nine Quad 1 wins which is tied for third in the nation.

All those rival fans that said the Spartans hadn't played anyone and they'd get exposed when they finally did are looking pretty ridiculous right about now.
