Just when you think the times in East Lansing could not be more exciting with a coaching change for the football program, the hockey team ranked in the top-five, and the hoops team ranked No. 7, Michigan State basketball unveils a new surprise for fans.
The program announced the return of some fan-favorite throwback jerseys on Monday night.
Michigan State is celebrating the first Nike uniform that the program debuted 25 years ago, and it's one of the best uniforms that the hoops program has ever worn. The nostalgia factor is through roof.
Fans love a good throwback, and these are some of the best.

It's actually kind of wild to see this uniform on guys like Jeremy Fears Jr. and Coen Carr, but it's fitting given that this team has the same type of tough play style as the early 2000s squads.
Fans were obviously thrilled about the news.
The jerseys were teased earlier in the evening by the official X account, and then the Spartans posted a highlight video of the teams that wore the jerseys with flashes of Fears and Carr also donning the throwback look. These jerseys brought fans some of their best memories from Shannon Brown throwing down any time he got the chance to Zach Randolph bullying guys in the post.
To say that everyone is excited about the return of this new look would be an understatement. These are some of the cleanest uniforms in the game and they're going to make fans feel that excitement of the 2000-01 Final Four season which followed a 2000 national title.
Tom Izzo had to also love the fact that these were returning because this reminds him of good times of a third straight Final Four and just toughness oozing from all of his players. Some of his signature teams wore these jerseys, and now they're back with a team that might feature the "next Mateen", as he openly calls Fears.
If you're wondering when the Spartans plan to wear these, it looks like it's going to be for the Iowa game on Tuesday night at the Breslin Center. I would also love to see them worn on Saturday against Duke if they can beat the Hawkeyes in them.
Oh, and a road version would be incredible, too.
