Earlier this week, Michigan State basketball revealed all tipoff times and TV channels for all regular-season games. Fans were able to plan their entire season out thanks to the tipoff times release, but there was one time missing: UConn.
No, the Spartans don’t play UConn in the regular season, but it’s one of the most anticipated preseason games in college basketball.
There was no solidified time for the Oct. 28 exhibition game in Hartford, Conn., but that has since changed, according to both programs.
On Thursday while Tom Izzo was at Big Ten Media Days, the program announced the tipoff time for the exhibition game against the Huskies. It’s reportedly set for 7:30 p.m. ET on Oct. 28 and it will air locally in Connecticut, but you can also pay $7.99 to watch it on UConn+.

Another streaming service to purchase if you want to watch Michigan State vs. UConn which should be nothing new to Spartan fans because they’ve had to purchase BTN+ to watch preseason games in the past, and they’re also used to Peacock games.
UConn has won two of the past three national titles and the Spartans are fresh off a Big Ten title and Elite Eight appearance, so this preseason game will draw plenty of attention.
Unless you pay the $8, though, you won’t be able to watch it live, apparently.
It would be nice if Michigan State was able to offer a streaming option of its own so the money doesn’t have to go to UConn’s athletic department and it could be a fair split. Michigan State should stream on its own and all the proceeds could go into an NIL fund.
