Meet the Spartans is a fan-centric event where you can take photos with Jonathan Smith and get players' autographs. The free event has long brought thousands of loyal Spartan fans every time the event has been hosted.
The Spartans had a similar event in 2024, but that was prior to the team's open practice. Seeing the actual event return brings back some great memories of years past for me.
I was fortunate enough over the years to partake in the event when I was younger, and have fortunately gotten to meet some of the more historic Spartan football players in program history.
Nothing tops my experience at Meet the Spartans in 2015. I was able to meet and get Connor Cook's autograph before he went on to lead Michigan State to the playoff.
My family and I still like to partake in this great event.
This year should be fun with plenty of new faces and big-name players; the chance to meet Aidan Chiles', or even Nick Marsh's, autograph has to be a the top of young fans' lists.
The event itself will take place at Spartan Stadium from 4-8 p.m. ET, according to the official press release. Jonathan Smith and the players will be available to take pictures and sign autographs from 5:30-6:30 p.m. ET.
Take some advice from me: be ready to move quickly. And it wouldn't hurt to have a group that way you have a chance to get everyone. I, for one, cannot wait to get back in Spartan Stadium and check out this great fan event.
The official return of this event certainly makes it feel like the good old days of Spartan football.
