Former Spartan basketball player Max Christie found himself in a new city after being a small part in one of the biggest trades in NBA history, as in the Luka Doncic to the Lakers deal.

It appears a new city isn't always bad, as Max has quickly proven he can be productive even at a higher level than he was in Los Angeles. Sure, Christie was having the best season of his young career. A breakout type year, but now that he's with the Mavericks, he has an even brighter future.

Having now played in four games since being traded, Christie has been producing at both ends of the floor. He's scored 15 or more points in each of those four games. He really showcasing his consistency.

His biggest moment came two games ago, as he hit a clutch three to help the Mavs put away the Houston Rockets. That shot was big as he finished the game with 23 points.

Christie's work on and off the floor has been catching the eye of some of his new teammates, including Klay Thompson, who spoke highly of Max and his history of playing well when teammates with a player who went to Michigan State.

"I have been incredibly impressed with Max," Thompson told reporters in the postgame. "What a great addition... I've had great success with Michigan State guys in my career, and he's just another one, they come in they play defense and are team players."

That speaks volumes, especially when a player like Thompson who's won four NBA titles knows what you are bringing to the table.

It's clear though that trade sent shockwaves throughout the world, Max Christie is going to be a name to keep an eye in Dallas moving forward. Sure the Mavs also got Anthony Davis in the trade, but Max is certainly looking like the biggest gain from the deal to this point.
