Injuries have been the norm for Michigan State basketball during pretty much every offseason since the dawn of time and that has continued this year.

The Spartans' tradition of offseason injuries continued just last week with the news of Kaleb Glenn's torn patellar tendon which marks him out for the year and also Jesse McCulloch was spotted in a walking boot and it was revealed that he had a stress fracture in his foot.

Death. Taxes. Michigan State basketball players suffering stress fractures.

Unfortunately, this has caused him to miss Moneyball which is the first look at the upcoming Spartan roster for fans and it usually never disappoints as highlight plays are aplenty. It's not really anything to put too much stock into, but it's a confidence builder for these players.

McCulloch will miss out on that opportunity.

On opening night of Moneyball on Tuesday, he did provide a somewhat positive injury update to the media who questioned his walking boot.

Another quote from McCulloch said that he's in week two of a six-week recovery from that "minor" foot injury. He expects to rejoin the team in July.

That's great news considering the roster has thinned out a bit due to injuries to Glenn and apparently Jordan Scott, but getting McCulloch back in the middle of the summer is important, especially considering the biggest growth happens from June/July through August/September.

The redshirt freshman should be ready to go when the season starts and it sounds like he'll have a good three months of healthy play before Michigan State tips off in October for exhibition play and Midnight Madness.

We'll take any good injury news we can get.
