There are some big names on campus this weekend for Michigan State basketball's annual Grind Week, including Spartan legend Draymond Green who brought a special guest with him.

Former Detroit Piston and Vanderbilt head coach, and current Golden State Warriors assistant, Jerry Stackhouse is apparently in the house this weekend for Grind Week.

And that could be a nice recruiting tool, too.

Not only did the Spartans welcome back former players like Draymond, Korie Lucious, Chris Allen, Kalin Lucas, Jaden Akins, Gary Harris, Miles Bridges, Travis Walton, and Xavier Tillman, but they also brought in Stackhouse with Green who will likely be partaking in Grind Week activities.

Stackhouse has plenty of experience at the collegiate level, coaching Vanderbilt from 2019-2024, and although he was fired after going 70-92 over five seasons, he landed on his feet with the Warriors.

The former Detroit Piston (1998-2002) was a fan favorite when he was in the state of Michigan about 25 years ago, and now he's back in East Lansing taking in Grind Week with his fellow Warrior. I have yet to see him pictured in any of the drills with the Spartan alums in attendance, but that could mean he's helping Tom Izzo out with some coaching duties. Either way, it's great to have former NBA stars joining Spartans on campus.

During his time in the NBA, Stackhouse averaged 16.9 points and shot 41 percent from the field. He was also a two-time All-Star and averaged a career-high 29.8 points with Detroit in 2000-01.
