Michigan State big man Jaxon Kohler is making his rounds in the pre-NBA draft process. He worked out for the Memphis Grizzlies before the withdrawal deadline and then he took a trip up to the Midwest to work out for the Indiana Pacers.

With two pre-draft workouts in the books, Kohler is starting to really generate some buzz and now he’s reportedly scheduling a third.

According to a report, Kohler is headed back home to work out for the team he probably grew up watching. He’s going to be working out for the Utah Jazz next.

This is cool for a number of reasons. For starters, he’s garnering enough interest to schedule another pre-draft workout before he even finished his second. He’s proving to be a legitimate NBA draft prospect. Also, he’s headed back home to work out for his home-state team. I’m sure he would love playing professional basketball where he grew up. And the other reason is the fact that Jaren Jackson Jr. is on the Jazz. It’d be cool to see Kohler and Jackson on the same team.

Kohler still has a lot to prove before an NBA team takes a chance on him. A good workout with the Jazz could go a long way.

Jaxon Kohler has some big boards to rise

Kohler isn’t projected to be selected in the 2026 NBA Draft, but he was No. 84 on ESPN’s big board with less than four weeks until the big day.

What NBA team wouldn’t want a 6-foot-10 power forward who can rebound at an elite level and who shoots threes at a 40 percent clip? He’s one of the more versatile bigs in this year’s draft class and even though he’s unlikely to be selected, he’s going to get a Summer League opportunity. A solid performance there can earn him a two-way contract.

At that point, he would likely be able to pick the team he wants to sign with. I have a feeling that the Jazz are his dream organization and Jackson taking him under his wing would be ideal.

So far during the pre-draft process, Kohler has worked out for three teams, Carson Cooper had a workout with the Golden State Warriors, and Jeremy Fears Jr. met with the Wizards and Bucks before opting to return for his junior season.

Spartans are drawing some interest.
