Michigan State picked up yet another big win over a ranked team on Thursday night, taking down No. 16 North Carolina to improve to 7-0 on the young season.

There’s plenty of time left in the regular season, but Michigan State currently looks like one of the best teams in the country. The Spartans will have to take care of No. 4 Duke next Saturday in East Lansing to really earn the respect of experts who believe that Michigan, Purdue, and UConn are the only contenders in college basketball.

The win over North Carolina was one of the most exciting in recent memory during Feast Week, as the Spartans rallied after the Tar Heels cut their lead to three, out-scoring them 19-6 in the final seven minutes of action. It was a heck of a close by a young Tom Izzo-coached team.

This is shaping up to be one of the most vintage Izzo-coached teams in recent memory, and it’s recording highlight play after highlight play, especially with Coen Carr dunking over everyone.

Carr actually had an incredible dunk against the Tar Heels in the first half that got the crowd on its feet and energized the team, and it actually was captured in one of the best photos of the year thanks to the perfect reaction from Jaxon Kohler.

You just have to see this recreation of the famous Dwyane Wade-LeBron James dunk.

OK, so it’s not exactly the same because Kohler didn’t alley-oop it off the glass to Carr, but his reaction was just as priceless. Kohler knew Carr was going to throw down a highlight-reel dunk before it even went through the hoop, and he threw his hands up in celebration as soon as his teammate left the floor.

Flight 55, as Kohler’s dad refers to him, took off and threw down one of the loudest dunks of the season, but this was just a regular one for Carr seeing as he has a highlight every game.

Carr is going to have plenty more dunks as exciting as this one, but I don’t think we’re going to see a picture this incredible all season.
