He's right.

Just one day after Tom Izzo went on his epic rant about the transfer portal and avoiding it until the 2024-25 season is officially over, Jason Richardson chimed in with some thoughts of his own.

Like his former head coach and the man who is currently coaching his son, Jase Richardson, Jason had some strong thoughts on what is currently ruining college football and basketball.

Unprompted, Richardson posted "3 things that are destroying NCAA football & basketball" on Twitter.

And he's right about all of them.

First, the timing of the transfer portal window is definitely a problem. Opening the portal during the NCAA Tournament as well as during bowl season is not ideal for the product. You're losing players to the portal while they're still making a push for a national title -- see Michigan losing Justin Pippen earlier this week while it's in the Sweet 16.

Next, the unlimited entry into the transfer portal without some sort of coaching change or unforeseen circumstance out of the player's control is concerning. We've seen guys pick new schools every year.

The last one is a bit of a concern because prop bets on college games are leading to grown adults messaging and tweeting at college kids because of a lost bet based on their stats. It's a problem. While I'm guilty of utilizing prop bets for college games, I could see why it's viewed as an issue.

Richardson brings up some good points and they reflect his former head coach's views.

Will we see massive overhauls to the rules of college football and basketball with the transfer portal and betting? Hopefully, but I doubt that happens any time soon.
