Jase Richardson was the lone Spartan to hear his name called in the 2025 NBA Draft, going No. 25 overall to the Orlando Magic. It was a surprising slide for the freshman guard who was once considered a lottery pick.

It was assumed that Jaden Akins would be fielding phone calls left and right as an undrafted free agent but he had gone nearly an entire week before his new NBA home became official.

On Wednesday, the Orlando Magic released their roster for the NBA Summer League, and a familiar name or two) appeared along with Richardson.

Akins will be on the Magic roster during Summer League action and another Spartan also made the cut. Former big man Marcus Bingham Jr., who had been playing overseas, appeared on the roster as well. Richardson will be on the roster, but Bingham and Akins will be hoping to earn a two-way deal. Even a G-League signing would be welcomed.

It's going to be cool to see Richardson and Akins teaming back up. The fact that they have so much chemistry and are comfortable in the same backcourt is only going to help them.

Adding another Spartan to the mix is only going to increase the comfortability. Michigan State fans are going to be locked in when Summer League action begins on July 10 and I'm willing to bet most of the eyes will be on the Orlando Magic rather than the Detroit Pistons.

Tom Izzo has to be proud of his former players as they're all battling for their NBA dreams.

Nothing would fuel narratives more than these three dominating the Summer League and winning the whole thing.
