It's only July and Michigan players are already thinking about Michigan State

More "little bro" comments from the totally not-obsessed Wolverines.

If you're a Michigan State fan, you've undoubtedly been called "obsessed" by your Michigan fan friends and the term "little bro" has been thrown in your face throughout your life regardless of how much the Spartans were beating up on the Wolverines (for a little over a decade under Mark Dantonio).

That "little brother" moniker should have died out when Dantonio made it his mission to dominate Michigan every year, but a Connor Stalions-driven national title* run has brought it back.

Michigan fans and players are now cockier than ever before and we can thank that 2023 national title for that as well as the end of the Mel Tucker era which has resulted in three straight losses to the Wolverines -- the most recent was the most heartbreaking.

Michigan State has also lost a number of recruits to Michigan, even ones who were committed to the Spartans until signing day (Rayshaun Benny, looking at you).

Now that same player is throwing shade at the school he was once committed to, calling Michigan State "little bro" and talking about the Spartans in the middle of July like totally unbothered big brothers usually do with "non-rivals", as some fans would claim.

That's right, a trio of Michigan players decided to take the mic, get in front of a camera, and talk about how they're going to put "belt to behind" to "little bro" this season.

Totally normal, not-obsessed behavior from a group of Michigan players who are two years removed from a national title. You would think they'd have bigger fish to fry than "little bro" who hasn't made a bowl game in three years.

Nope, Michigan State is on their minds in the middle of July. I can't imagine that's going to backfire in any way.

Oct. 25 can't come soon enough.
