Aidan Chiles has been on the mend all week after suffering an injury against UCLA.
It was the second straight week in which he had an injury scare, following a hard hit he took at Nebraska by about three defenders. He went down on a sack in the red zone thanks to a missed block (followed by hands on the helmet) and it took him a minute to get back up. He went into the medical tent and returned, but never looked the same.
Since that injury, he’s been struggling mightily. He’s been able to run more, but his arm is not what it was in the first few weeks of the season.
Against UCLA, he suffered another injury and was knocked from the game. Backup quarterback Alessio Milivojevic finished the game out, but fans were wondering if Chiles would return in Week 8 against the No. 3 team in the country.
According to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports, it looks like he is going to return on Saturday afternoon in Bloomington as he’s “expected to be able to play” against Indiana.
Michigan State starting QB Aidan Chiles is expected to be able to play against No. 3 Indiana on Saturday, sources tell @CBSSports.

Is this a good thing? I’m not so sure it’s good for Chiles’ confidence seeing as he’s had back-to-back poor performances behind a shaky offensive line and he could probably use a week off to regroup from the past two injuries and gear up for the biggest game of the year vs. Michigan.
Indiana has one of the best defenses in the country and there’s a good chance the Hoosiers are dominating whoever is starting under center. So why start the ailing QB1?
There’s not a quarterback controversy right now, but if Chiles starts on Saturday, I think there very well could be come Sunday.
