Michigan State women’s basketball hasn't had the best of luck against rival Michigan this season. Both the men's and women's squads suffered losses to the heated rival at the Breslin Center this season.

The ladies went to Ann Arbor looking for some revenge on Sunday, but all they got was another blowout loss, along with some unwanted injuries.

That seems to have been a major issue for Michigan State as of late. They have been without senior guard Theryn Hallock for most of season, as she only played in the first eight games before a foot injury has kept her out.

Add in Isaline Alexander suffered her third-straight major injury that cut her final season short once again. That’s enough injury issues to say the least.

Then you see what happened in the game on Sunday with the Wolverines.

Not only did the Spartans lose starting guard Rashunda Jones to an injury late in the third quarter but a very scary moment occurred in the fourth quarter as Juliann Woodard took a hard fall in the post. The fall brought a very strong crowd at Crisler dead silent.

Woodard was down for several minutes before be taken off the court in a wheelchair.

Not something you want to see, especially with how hard Woodard plays, and it would mark her second straight year that could be over with due to an injury.

Robyn Fralick's team is tough, but these injuries are starting to become demoralizing, especially for a team that started out the season 18-1 for their best record in years. They even looked like they could contend for the Big Ten.

Now the team finds itself having lost four of it's last five games. They are still in a fight to get a top four seed in the NCAA tournament, but things are looking a bit rocky especially if Jones and Woodard are down for a long period of time.

Like the men's team, the Spartan ladies need to find a way to get the ship straightened out, and make a big run, as March gets closer and closer.
