Midnight Madness is one of the best events that Michigan State basketball puts on every year, and it’s a direct sign that the season is right around the corner.

For the 2025 version, the Spartans had all of Detroit’s professional team’s mascots in attendance, and the jumbotron showed some big names wishing Michigan State luck this season. We saw Tarik Skubal, Dan Campbell, JB Bickerstaff, Steve Yzerman, Malik Hall, Max Christie, Mateen Cleaves, and Jase Richardson, among others, wishing the Spartans and Tom Izzo luck.

Then, fans in attendance were treated to a dunk contest led by none other than Coen Carr.

The star junior, fresh off a breakout sophomore season, is gearing up to be a team leader and captain in 2025-26, but first, he had to show off his incredible athleticism with a dunk contest.

Cam Ward and Trey Fort also joined in, but Carr’s dunks obviously stole the show.

One of his best dunks involved him jumping over 7-foot-0 Carson Cooper on an alley-oop. It got the crowd on its feet, but a new angle of that dunk has emerged — and it’s incredible.

Cooper was filming the dunk from his phone, and his POV was shared on TikTok. It’s amazing.

It’s not often you see a 6-foot-6 forward leaping over a 7-footer for a dunk, but Carr is just that special. Fortunately for us, we got one of the most unique angles of an alley-oop that you’ll ever see.

The dunk montage that we’re going to see at the end of Carr’s junior season is going to be special.
