From now until Moneyball, there’s essentially a dead period in Michigan State basketball news. Very little happens at the beginning of the summer, so for those of us craving any Spartan hoops updates, the current Team USA run to the gold medal game has been a nice pick-me-up.

A pair of Michigan State signees are playing for Team USA as they wrap up the FIBA AmeriCup gold medal game on Sunday night and they’ve been performing pretty well.

There have only been four games leading up to the gold medal game on Sunday night and Team USA hasn’t lost a single one. Jervis and Taylor have played a decent amount — but aren’t getting starter’s minutes — and they’ve looked really solid. Jervis played sparingly in the first couple of games and Taylor started the first game and has looks like a more skilled rebounder and defender than we all thought after a quiet senior year at Link Academy.

With the win over Brazil in the semifinals (by 46 points), Team USA has advanced to the final and will play Canada for gold. It’d be pretty cool to watch a couple of Spartans sport gold medals fo Team USA.

So how can you watch the game? We’ve got you covered.

How to watch Team USA vs. Canada

Date: Sunday, June 7
Time: 10 p.m. ET
Live Stream: FIBA’s YouTube

Although the game won’t be on TV, you can check out the FIBA YouTube page where they plan on live streaming the bronze medal game between Puerto Rico and Brazil and the gold medal game between Team USA and Canada.

Jervis had a nice bounce-back game in the semifinals against Brazil and Taylor did, too, and they’ll both look to build on that in their final game with Team USA before joining the team in East Lansing.

Tom Izzo is building a monster

I hate overhyping teams, but the 2026-27 squad should be one of the best that Tom Izzo has ever assembled. He has the best point guard in the country, the best athlete in the country, some really good second and third-year players sprinkled in, a finally-healthy transfer, and an elite freshman class featuring a couple of Team USA players. Not too shabby.

We’ll get a glimpse into the future with Jervis and Taylor taking center stage with Team USA.
