Tom Izzo is in the midst of another massive March Madness run with Michigan State basketball but it doesn't hurt to keep an eye on some of the next guys who will be suiting up for the green and white next season.

One of those players is Jasiah Jervis. Boy would it be great to have his services already. The Spartans don't but that doesn't mean he isn't already making noise at a massive level nationally.

The four-man 2026 recruiting class has plenty of names and faces who are going to play a massive role for Michigan State. Jervis is at the top of the list as the shooting guard continues to show off high potential.

Jervis’ high school team Archbishop Stepinac in New York has had a very strong season, as he plays alongside a pair of twins who will also be playing in the Big Ten next season. That power lineup has been very strong.

In fact he helped lead Stepinac to victory over Eagle Academy in the All-City Championship. Which was his final game in a Crusaders uniform. Jervis also had some big individual news this past week.

The McDonald's All-American guard was named the New York Gatorade Player of the Year. Further cementing his place as the top player in Michigan State's incoming class.

He's built quite a resume at the high school level, and looks to be destined to make some memories for Michigan State, alongside the rest of the 2026 class.

Jasiah Jervis gives Michigan State just what it needs

Michigan State is missing a knockdown shooter in the starting lineup this season, and that could very well be Jervis. That’s been the long-running narrative ever since he committed to the Spartans, but that starting two-guard spot may not be his considering Jordan Scott has been locked in there.

Still, Jervis is going to play a large role for the Spartans next season and he could be that missing piece that the lineup needs.

The New York Gatorade Player of the Year will come to Michigan State with sky-high expectations for himself and from the fanbase.
