It's been a minute since Gabe Brown stepped foot on the court for Michigan State basketball, but the former Spartan wing made headlines earlier this week.
Brown has been playing overseas for the past three years after his stint in the G-League was up. He played for the Raptors' G-League affiliate in 2022-23. He spent the next season in Italy playing for Openjobmetis Varese and then parted ways with the organization after averaging just over 11 points per game. He then played for the Trapani Shark in the same Italian league (LBA).
When that contract expired, he was forced to look for a new home, and he just found it in France with SIG Strasbourg on Wednesday, the team announced.

The former wing who was best known for his shooting (he was one of the streakiest shooters in recent memory) and athleticism now has a chance to further his professional career overseas.
Brown will be spending the next season in France as he becomes the latest Spartan to sign a professional contract this offseason, joining guys like Marcus Bingham Jr. and Jase Richardson (NBA). While he would obviously like to make it to the NBA, he's carving out a nice career for himself.
Gabe will forever be known for his breakout game against LSU in the 2018-19 NCAA Tournament where he broke out as a true freshman and was finally known for more than just his hilarious celebrations on the bench. He helped Michigan State get to the Final Four because of that game.
