There has been a lot of cross-rivalry action this offseason in the transfer portal, and Michigan State football fans — and players — have been pretty vocal about former players even considering Michigan.

When Justin Denson Jr. had a visit to Ann Arbor, new (but really old) Michigan State cornerback Charles Brantley called him out on social media. It was a playful jab, but this means something to players.

However, Fredrick Moore made the first move this offseason between the two programs. The former Michigan receiver decided to transfer to Michigan State, even trolling the Wolverines on his Instagram. He probably hasn’t made many fans in Ann Arbor since his departure.

Denson followed up with that Michigan visit, but Aisea Moa made an even more unforgivable move, to an extend, transferring from Michigan State to the Wolverines.

Moa can be somewhat forgiven because he’s following his brother, Salesi Moa, who committed to Michigan during Friday night’s Polynesian Bowl.

This move isn’t going to make Spartan fans happy, especially since he posted the “M” emoji after committing to the Wolverines. This move probably won’t make many BYU fans happy either as the former Cougar is going to play for the former rival coach in Ann Arbor. Kyle Whittingham isn’t BYU fans’ favorite person, so seeing a former Cougar play for him has to hurt.

All this to follow his brother.

Aisea Moa won’t get as much hate as others

Several Spartans have either flipped to Michigan after being committed to Michigan State or transferred to the Wolverines, or wanted to follow a family member to Ann Arbor.

Jaden Mangham is the most infamous one, transferring to Michigan after starting at safety for the Spartans for a couple of years. The move didn’t make a ton of sense, and now Mangham has since transferred again, this time to Purdue. It feels like that didn’t quite work out.

Rayshaun Benny flipped from Michigan State to Michigan on signing day a few years ago, but before him, there was Drake Harris. Both guys got plenty of hate from Michigan State fans.

All of those guys live in Michigan State football infamy.

Fortunately, Moa was just in East Lansing for a cup of coffee and didn’t exactly have a massive impact on the program, and he was also a transfer from BYU. He won’t get as much hate as the others on this list of transfers to Michigan, but he won’t be welcomed back to East Lansing with open arms.
