Following his best season of collegiate football, Christian Fitzpatrick was back in the transfer portal. That's right, for the third time in his career, the former Michigan State football receiver was in the portal, looking for his fourth home in five years.
And he found it back in the Power Four after spending the past season at Marshall.
Fitzpatrick released a list of programs that were recruiting him the hardest in the portal about a week ago which included Arizona, BYU, Arizona State, Colorado State, Kentucky, Wake Forest, SMU, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, UCLA, and Oklahoma State.
There was a chance that he could be back in the Big Ten with UCLA, preparing to face Michigan State later this fall. However, he picked his new home on Monday and he's headed to the Big 12.

He has totaled 848 career receiving yards and 7 touchdowns.https://t.co/DPpwUaobig pic.twitter.com/6Zkory4vXr
Fitzpatrick is headed back to the Power Four where he feels he belongs after catching 34 passes for 576 yards and six touchdowns in 2024 with Charles Huff and Marshall. He had a breakout season and built on his strong 2023 campaign with the Spartans when he caught 18 passes for 252 yards and a score.
The Southfield, Mich., native definitely has the frame for the Power Four at 6-foot-4 and 217 pounds and I could see him making his mark with the Cowboys in 2025.
Obviously this is his last year of eligibility as he redshirted with Louisville in 2020, transferred to Michigan State in 2021 and played three seasons with the Spartans, and then finished his pre-Oklahoma State tour at Marshall in 2024.
We'll see if he can finally turn himself into an NFL draft prospect in 2025.
