A few years ago, the excitement surrounding the Katin Houser-to-Germie Bernard connection in East Lansing was through the roof. The two Michigan State football freshmen weren't getting a ton of action in a disappointing 2022 season, but they were waiting patiently for their time.

Unfortunately, that never came in the green and white for either player.

Houser transferred following the 2023 season to East Carolina, and Bernard left a year earlier, transferring to Washington to play for Kalen DeBoer. He had a solid season with the Huskies in 2023 and made it all the way to the national title game, catching 34 passes for 419 yards and two scores.

When DeBoer left Washington for Alabama, Bernard followed. In his first season with the Tide in 2024, he broke out, catching 50 passes for 794 yards and two touchdowns.

And so far this season, he's been dubbed as "Alabama's best receiver" despite Ryan Williams getting all the headlines. NFL draft expert Matt Miller even tabbed him as the potential WR1 in the 2026 NFL Draft.

On Saturday afternoon against Wisconsin, Bernard was seen tormenting a foe from the conference in which he got his college football start.

Bernard started the game with the first touchdown on a run out of the backfield.

The former Spartan then tacked on with a 43-yard catch over the middle from Ty Simpson.

Bernard had two catches for 48 yards and a touchdown and then another touchdown run in the first half of what's looking like a blowout of Wisconsin.

Just imagine how good he'd look next to Omari Kelly and Nick Marsh.
