EA Sports CFB 25 game simulation for Michigan State football vs. Iowa
It's that time of the week again, Michigan State football fans. That's right, it's the Friday before game day and that means it's time for the weekly EA Sports College Football 25 game simulation.
Every week, I've been running simulations for the upcoming games and they've been fairly accurate although some weren't as close as EA Sports expected them to be.
On Saturday night, Iowa comes to town and I think we can all agree that's a fairly winnable game for the Spartans coming off a bye week. The Hawkeyes have a couple of losses on the year while Michigan State is 3-3 and looks better than expected before the year began.
We'll see a familiar face leading the Iowa offense as Cade McNamara is back for one more season and he'll surely give this defense all it can handle.
So without further ado, let's get to the results of the EA Sports simulation.
Simulation results for Iowa vs. Michigan State football
As expected, there wasn't much offense in this one but Iowa came away with a 26-16 win in East Lansing after racing out to a 20-3 lead. The Spartans battled back and scored a couple of touchdowns in the second half, but Iowa matched those and came away with a big win.
Here were the key performers for the Spartans.
Player | Stats |
---|---|
Aidan Chiles | 17-for-35, 239 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT; 19 rushing yards |
Nate Carter | 23 carries for 90 yards |
Jack Velling | 5 catches for 83 yards |
Montorie Foster Jr. | 4 catches for 45 yards |
Jordan Turner | 6 tackles |
Jordan Hall | 5 tackles, 1 sack |
Armorion Smith | 4 tackles, 1 interception |
The simulation had Alante Brown leading the team in receiving with seven catches for 96 yards and two touchdowns but for obvious reasons I couldn't include that. Let's just say those are Nick Marsh's numbers since Brown is out with an injury.
The Spartans also were out-gained by two yards and, on paper, this game was close than the scoreboard indicates.
Let's hope the result is different on Saturday night.
