With spring ball officially in the books and the transfer portal open, you will likely see a number of Michigan State football players on the move in the coming days and weeks.
That was clear on Monday when 2023 starting safety Dillon Tatum entered his name into the transfer portal after spending three years in East Lansing. It felt like he was potentially looking for a better opportunity elsewhere after coming off a season-ending injury in 2024 that he suffered in the season opener against FAU.
On Tuesday, a couple more names entered the transfer portal with more to come.

The 2024 class wideouts not named Nick Marsh who maybe slid down the depth chart more than they expected this offseason with a handful of portal additions at the position decided to enter their names into the portal. This doesn't come as much of a surprise with the staff landing Evan Boyd, Omari Kelly, Rodney Bullard Jr., and Chrishon McCray from the portal this offseason.
Add in Nick Marsh and you have one of the better receiving corps in the Big Ten with Alante Brown also vying for snaps. There's not much room to move up if you're Brown or Clay.
These two shouldn't have a lack of suitors in the portal as Brown was a late-riser in the class and finished as the No. 66 receiver in 2024, per 247Sports. He had five offers, but he did earn plenty of praise from Courtney Hawkins and the coaching staff last season on the scout team. He should be able to find a home -- maybe closer to home in Texas. As for Clay, he was ranked the No. 147 receiver in the class and he had seven offers. He, too, could move closer to home in Ohio.
Expect more names to hit the portal in the coming days.
