Draymond Green is just a couple of weeks into his offseason with the Golden State Warriors failing to make it past the playoffs-in round of the NBA Playoffs but he’s already started a few new beefs.
The first may have been a silent one with head coach Steve Kerr who he claimed may have held him back as an offensive player throughout his career with the Warriors, but he clarified that he loves his coach and meant no harm by the statement. He wasn’t wrong completely, however. Kerr needed him in a role and he fit it perfectly and didn’t need to be an offensive weapon.
The second beef was with ESPN analyst and former NBA player and Duke alum Austin Rivers who said that Draymond’s critique of Kerr wasn’t really fair because he was never an offensive weapon.
Obviously Draymond took that personally and responded to Rivers by saying that the two averaged the same amount of points at the high school level so that wasn’t true. He also took a couple more personal shots at Rivers, saying that he is on his “second act” already after retiring from the NBA and Draymond is still on his first despite being in the same draft class and said that Doc Rivers — his dad — gifted him a huge “bailout” contract.
Rivers has since responded and he’s trying to take the high road while getting in a few last jabs, but that one doesn’t seem to be going anywhere.
So why not stumble into another beef? This time, Draymond’s beefing with a legend (no offense to Austin Rivers).
Charles Barkley and Draymond Green are having some fun
Charles Barkley and Draymond have always had a playful rivalry, and that continued with what many would argue was an awkward jab during an ‘Inside the NBA’ segment on ESPN.
Things got a little tense on the 'Inside the NBA set when Draymond took a shot at Chuck's final years in Houston 😬 pic.twitter.com/g9xRH5H6qq

Draymond told a joke that clearly didn’t land on the set and Chuck didn’t want to fire back with another personal insult, so he just let Green talk.
It didn’t take him long on a little media tour this week to talk about the “beef” and give a rebuttal to Draymond’s harsh words about the end of Barkley’s NBA career with the Rockets.
"If Golden State was relevant, he wouldn't be in the studio with me!" 😅

Barkley appeared on another podcast and spoke about the situation, telling the host that he doesn’t “punch down”, calling Draymond a good player but not on his level.
As an NBA Hall of Famer, Barkley has every right to talk that way.
Draymond needed to get checked a bit for going at Barkley personally whether he meant it as a joke or not, and I just hope he doesn’t take Chuck’s response too harshly. If he does, I have a feeling that this beef is going to last all playoffs long. Joy.
