Draymond Green calls Yaxel Lendeborg’s pitch to LeBron James ‘pointless’

Draymond Green seems to be tired of Yaxel Lendeborg.

Draymond Green doesn’t hide his emotions very well and it’s never really been more clear about his feelings toward a rookie from the University of Michigan.

OK, so maybe he made it well-known how he felt about Jordan Poole with one swing of a fist, but that former Michigan star was no longer a rookie when that infamous punch during practice happened. He’s been much more outspoken regarding new Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg from Michigan.

Lendeborg, as we all know, is one of the more confident rookies in this year’s class, and he fit right in at Michigan where he could be a little cockier — and some might even say arrogant.

When the Warriors drafted Lendeborg in the lottery, the first thoughts were about how they got themselves a steal, but then that quickly shifted to “Draymond isn’t going to like him”. It’s like when you have an older dog and you want to add a puppy to the mix but you know that older dog isn’t the friendliest so you worry about how they’ll get along. That’s exactly what this situation is.

Unlike the dog analogy, we don’t really have to wait long to realize that Yaxel and Draymond may just mix like oil and water.

Since Yaxel was drafted last month, he’s already run into an issue with Draymond, telling the media during his intro presser that he had heard from Steph Curry but he reached out to Green and was waiting to hear back. Draymond immediately pulled the receipts to prove that he was lying and that the two had a conversation despite the veteran being overseas and in a different time zone.

Draymond called him out and joked about potentially bringing back rookie hazing, but now, after Yaxel made his “pitch” to LeBron James, the Warriors’ vet is going in on the Michigan rookie once again.

Draymond called Yaxel’s pitch to LeBron “pointless” during a recent podcast episode.

Granted, Yaxel was kind of put on the spot when he was asked to give his pitch to get LeBron to join the Warriors, so I can understand why he didn’t exactly know what to say, but obviously arguably the greatest player of all time isn’t going to hear a rookie out when making his decision to sign for one last NBA title run.

It’s harsh, but Draymond was also right when he called the pitch “pointless” because it honestly was — to no fault of his own, LeBron just isn’t listening to Lendeborg.

Draymond Green may need to ease up a bit on the rookie

I know where Draymond is coming from with his response to all the Yaxel quotes his lie about Green not reaching out after he was drafted, but he just needs to ease up because most NBA and Warriors fans don’t realize that Lendeborg is just like this. He’s trying to get a reaction.

Green needs to be smarter and not fall into the trap.

Yaxel is going to try and ruffle Green’s feathers a bit because that’s just the type of guy he is and he knows that it won’t take much to get Draymond going, but he has to realize at the end of the day that they’re both trying to do the same thing, and that’s win an NBA title for the Warriors.

This is like a little brother and older brother situation. Yaxel is the little brother who is pestering and trying to cause older brother to do something that’ll get him in trouble with his parents. The older brother needs to keep a calm head and let the little brother troll himself to sleep.

Draymond can’t afford another Poole situation.
