It had been a good week for Michigan State fans, until a lot of us were getting ready for bed, the owners of the ever-popular Zeke the Wonderdog shared some tragic news about Zeke the Wonderdog.

After 11 of the "goodest" years of his life, Zeke passed away over the weekend.

The news spread like a wildfire on Twitter, rocking the Spartan community.

This was obviously something that we never thought we'd have to mourn, especially since he just wrapped up another football season not too long ago.

Zeke has to be one of the best Michigan State traditions of all time. Ever since I was a kid, I can remember Zeke stopping by tailgates to receive pets from fans, sign some autographs, and maybe catch a couple of frisbees. While that obviously wasn't the same Zeke as the one that just passed away, the pup and his pup successors have had a soft spot in Michigan State fans' hearts for decades.

Losing him feels like losing a member of the family.

Will we see another Zeke? After processing this news, that will probably be on everyone's mind, but if we don't see another Wonderdog, just know that it's been an absolute pleasure watching Zeke(s) catching frisbees and entertaining Spartan fans young and old for decades.

You can actually read the history of Zeke and his introduction with Michigan State on the Wonderdog's website.

Just how important of a figure was Zeke to Michigan State? Not only did most fans stay in their seats when he was out on the floor/field, but he was also the first request by Aidan Chiles when he signed with Michigan State. The former Spartan quarterback and top transfer said that he really wanted to meet Zeke when he got to East Lansing.

He got to do that.

Zeke's owners are devastated by the news, but they're asking fans of his to donate to the MSU Student Food Bank in the Wonderdog's honor.

What was a happy day for Michigan State fans after a road win over Indiana, turned into a sad day after hearing this devastating Zeke news.
