The beginning of fall camp is an exciting time for players, coaches, and fans, and Tuesday's first practice provided a sneak-peak for fans on what to expect from Michigan State in 2025.

Jonathan Smith, Jalen Thompson, Malik Spencer, and Aidan Chiles all spoke to the media following Michigan State's first fall practice and they were all optimistic about the squad. They spoke about having great depth, competing for championships, and team chemistry at this point in the offseason.

Chiles specifically gave a great quote, stating that the team chemistry this season is top-tier and it's the closest team that he's ever been on.

A lot of teams have quotes like these, but for a guy who has spent time in a couple of different places during his two-year college career, I'm a little surprised he said this considering that Oregon State team that he was on as a true freshman went 8-4 and seemingly had great chemistry.

This team, according to Chiles, beats that one in terms of team chemistry.

Chiles has taken some major strides this offseason both on the field and as a leader and it's showing in his conversations with the media. He seems much more confident but also humble. It's a combination that doesn't often go together, but the best leaders can pull it off. Chiles is the leader of the locker room and if he says the chemistry is top-tier, you have to believe that.

The Spartans are coming off a 5-7 season and a third straight missed bowl game, but judging by Thompson's quote on the team's depth and Chiles' on the chemistry in the locker room, I'm expecting that postseason drought to come to an end this year.
