“Jim Harbaugh” may as well be a curse word in East Lansing these days. The former Michigan head coach is now with the Los Angeles Chargers after winning a national title and Michigan State fans don’t miss him one bit thanks to Connor Stalions — and about a million other reasons.
Well, a couple of Spartans got some revenge on Harbaugh on Sunday afternoon.
Harbaugh and the Chargers were expected to be contenders in the AFC this season but they were shocked by the hapless Arizona Cardinals in Week 1 but they were looking to bounce back in Week 2 against Kirk Cousins and the Las Vegas Raiders.
And the Spartans got the better of the former Michigan head coach.
The Chargers opened the week as 8.5-point favorites over the Raiders, but Couins and fellow Spartans Jalen Nailor, Connor Heyward, and Cody White didn’t care about that.
However, it was Cousins and White who led the Raiders to an “upset” win over the Chargers.
Cousins was 19-for-29 for 253 yards yards and three touchdowns while White may have had just 24 receiving yards, but he caught two of the former Spartan QB1’s three touchdown passes.
Entering Sunday’s game at Los Angeles, White had just 11 career receptions with one touchdown catch but he had two with two scores against the Chargers. The connection that he and Cousins have developed is something that no one outside of East Lansing expected, but it helped lead the Raiders past Harbaugh’s Chargers.
The game was still in the balance late in the fourth quarter, but White’s second touchdown reception put the game out of reach, leading the Spartan duo past the former Wolverine.

It’s already impressive that White made the Raiders’ roster after being cut by the Seahawks following the preseason but now he’s joining forces with Cousins and leading the Raiders to upset wins.
For a guy who wasn’t expected to make an NFL roster this year, White has become one of the league’s feel-good stories. He may not be one of the best receivers in the NFL, but he’s proving that he belongs with a couple of massive touchdown catches.
You have to love seeing Spartans in the NFL beating Wolverines in the NFL.

Cousins and White obviously led the way in Sunday’s victory in Los Angeles, but Heyward was one of three players outside of Cousins to have a carry and Nailor had one reception for nine yards.
Seeing Cousins and White have this type of success this early in the season has been fun, but the success coming against Harbaugh makes it even sweeter.
Somewhere, Mark Dantonio is smiling ear-to-ear.
Not only were Dantonio era players putting the beatdown on Michigan for about a decade in college football, but now they’re beating up on Harbaugh in the NFL.
