Michigan State football picked up a big win on Saturday night to improve to 2-0 for a second straight season under Jonathan Smith.

But it didn't come easy.

The Spartans needed a great second half to send the game to overtime, and they got just that. They scored the tying touchdown on the first drive of the second half, and both sides traded field goals until overtime. There, Aidan Chiles threw a touchdown in the first overtime, and then he ran one in before converting on the game-winning 2-point conversion in the second extra frame.

Which Spartans earned a game ball in the revenge win over Boston College?

1. Aidan Chiles, QB

Aidan Chiles took a huge step in the right direction. He was clutch, he got better as the game went along, and he was sharp. He didn't make any back-breaking mistakes and protected the football, accounting for five total touchdowns and over 250 total yards.

Talk about avenging last season's loss to Boston College in a big way.

2. Ryan Eckley, P

There's no better punter in the country than Ryan Eckley. He was pinpoint accurate from the get-go on Saturday night, and while he had just three punts, he pinned Boston College inside their own 20 each time, including a couple of times inside the 5-yard-line. He flipped the field to perfection, and he's become the best weapon on the team.

3. Nick Marsh, WR

While he didn't put up video game-like numbers like he's done in the past, he scored one of the most impressive touchdowns by a Spartan receiver since Aaron Burbridge's spin cycle score against Penn State back in 2015. Marsh caught a slant inside the 10 and dragged a couple of defenders into the end zone for the first touchdowns of the game.

Marsh looked really good all game and finished with five catches for 68 yards and two scores. He is special, and Saturday's performance was proof.
