3. Win the Big Ten
I debated about putting up "improve 3-point shooting" in this spot, but this one just eats at me a little more and I'm not worried about the Spartans' shooting from distance anymore.
Earlier in the year, I would have 100 percent put 3-point shooting improvement on here, but Michigan State has been getting better in that regard as the season's progressed. Now it's time to focus on a much bigger goal that would be a product of improved shooting: winning the Big Ten.
Michigan State last won the Big Ten in 2019-2020 when Cassius Winston led the Spartans to a third straight conference title before COVID-19 cancelled his final NCAA Tournament run. That tragic ending to the Cassius era still doesn't sit well with me and it feels like there's been a dark cloud over the program ever since. But 2024-25 feels different.
Michigan State is off to a good start this season, sitting at 11-2 and 2-0 in the Big Ten so why not make a run and build a strong lead in the conference title race?
Why not win its first Big Ten title in five years? It's time to end the drought and this is the perfect year to do just that with a wide-open conference.
