3. Michigan State covers, and then some

The line heading into Wednesday night's Big Ten opener against Minnesota is rather surprising as the Spartans are favored by just 4.5 points. That's surprising for a number of reasons, but it is a Big Ten road game and Vegas knows that wins away from home don't come easy.

And early on, Vegas will look like geniuses. The Spartans will be battling back and forth with Dawson Garcia and the Gophers and will take just a two-point lead into halftime.

But then something will be said by Tom Izzo in the locker room that will spark this team.

The second half will be all Michigan State as the Spartans build a double-digit lead and never look back. They'll lead the entire second half and even flirt with a 20-point advantage before leveling out again and winning somewhere in the 12-15-point range, covering the spread, and then some.

Michigan State wins 79-66.
