Michigan State basketball, fresh off a 2-1 trip to Maui, is back in action on Wednesday night as the Spartans will take on a 6-3 Minnesota team at The Barn.

The Spartans need to set the tone for Big Ten play which begins on Wednesday night and concludes an early two-game stretch this weekend against Nebraska. These are two winnable games, but the Spartans need to take care of business and not overlook the opponents on the schedule nor play down to them like they've been known to do.

Minnesota may be 6-3 but it has losses to North Texas, Wichita State, and Wake Forest this season while also securing three-point wins over Yale and Central Michigan and a four-point win over Omaha.

It's time to make a statement on the road.

Let's get bold.

1. Tre Holloman goes off in his homecoming

Tre Holloman just scored a career-high 19 points against North Carolina in arguably the best all-around performance of his Spartan career and what better way to provide an encore than in your hometown in front of family and friends?

Holloman is from Minneapolis and that's where the Spartans will be on Wednesday night, facing the Gophers who he struggled against the last time Michigan State went to The Barn.

In fact, Holloman had just two points, two assists, and a rebound to go along with two turnovers and two fouls the last time he played at Minnesota in 2023-24, but he's going to put on a show for the hometown crowd, scoring 15 points with six assists, three rebounds, two steals, and a block on Wednesday night.

Quite the homecoming for Holloman.
