Michigan State football: Nathan Carter reaffirms status with Spartans
There has been a lot of uncertainty surrounding the Michigan State football roster this week as over a dozen players have announced their intentions to enter the portal.
We’ve seen the likes of Katin Houser, Sam Leavitt, Noah Kim, Spencer Brown, Ethan Boyd, Geno VanDeMark, Brandon Baldwin, Derrick Harmon, Jaron Glover, Tyrell Henry, and Christian Fitzpatrick make these announcements as the roster for next season continues to slim down.
And there are more names on the way.
Yet with all of those departures and uncertainty, Michigan State has some guys who have stood up and said that they’re going to stick with the program.
One of those guys is Nathan Carter.
Before posting this on Tuesday amid all the portal questions arising, Carter said after the Penn State loss in the finale that he would be back to give it all for the next head coach.
So seeing him reaffirm his commitment on Twitter was not shocking.
Nathan Carter will be centerpiece of Michigan State football offense
With most of the starting skill position players gone, Carter is going to be the focal point on offense, especially since Jonathan Smith likes to pound the rock.
The Spartans didn’t run the ball as effectively as they would have liked last season, but Smith and the new staff and a hopefully revamped offensive line could change that. It feels like Carter is going to thrive because of this staff and personnel change.
Hearing that he’s locked in with Michigan State is a huge relief and there’s no doubt that he’ll be a fan favorite next year.
