As the clock ticked down on a Michigan State basketball exhibition victory over Hillsdale College on Wednesday night, Tom Izzo decided to give his walk-ons some run.

He called the numbers of all the guys usually situated at the end of the bench, including his son, Steven Izzo. The crowd loved the move (as it always does) as Steven took the floor to a roaring ovation. And, of course, the students wanted him to shoot every time he touched the ball.

Steven did take a wild stepback 3-point jumper that his dad kind of rolled his eyes and looked flabbergasted at, but he made up for it shortly after.

With under a minute left, Steven went to the line for a couple of free throws.

As Izzo stepped to the line, the crowd had to quickly contain itself. They wanted nothing more than Steven to knock down both free throws.

Tom looked on with a grin on his face.

Steven nailed the first and the crowd went wild. And then he drilled the second as the camera panned over to Tom on the bench with a full grin on his face while his son celebrated two points.

Just a great moment.

You could see the visible grin on Izzo’s face after the first one went in and he was almost brought to tears when the second swished through.

What a great moment. Hopefully they have more opportunities to celebrate together this year.
