It may not feel like it because football season has felt like a never-ending pool of despair, but Spartan hoops is officially back. Wednesday’s Michigan State vs. Hillsdale College game will mark the start of the 2023-24 season as the first exhibition game for the Spartans.

Michigan State just gave fans an inside look at the program over the weekend before the Michigan game, hosting an open scrimmage.

Now, the Spartans will finally face a team with different jerseys. That’s the official start to the season and it’s one of the most anticipated teams we’ve seen in years. Michigan State is No. 4 in the country to start the season and many believe this is Tom Izzo’s best team in a long time.

We’re going to see these guys in action (minus Jaxon Kohler) on Wednesday night as they take on Hillsdale College at the Breslin Center. This will be a nice shake-off-the-rust game for MSU.

While this doesn’t count toward records, it’s still going to be a perfect tune-up game before the Spartans face Tennessee in an exhibition over the weekend. Nothing is on the line, but it’ll be important for Michigan State to play well.

Here’s how you can watch Wednesday’s Michigan State vs. Hillsdale game:

Date: Wednesday, Oct. 25
Time: 7 p.m. ET
Location: East Lansing, Mich.
Venue: Breslin Center
Live stream: BTN+

While we won’t learn a ton about the Spartans from this game against Hillsdale College, it’s going to be a good opportunity to shake off some rust and give the fans a show.
