It’s that week again. Michigan State vs. Michigan will take center stage in the state on Saturday night as the struggling Spartans take on the No. 2 Wolverines.

Michigan State has lost four straight games after starting the season 2-0 as well as its head coach. The Spartans are now fielding an interim coach and looking to pull off the upset of the season with the undefeated Wolverines coming to town.

Michigan, on the other hand, is 6-0 and rolling right through everyone on the schedule. Wolverine fans figure to travel well to Spartan Stadium as Michigan State faithful are down on their team.

Not the best rivalry week in this matchup’s history.

Here’s how to watch the Michigan State vs. Michigan game on Saturday evening.

Michigan State vs. Michigan weather report (Updated Oct. 20)

The weather in East Lansing on Saturday night isn’t going to be great. We’re looking at about 47 degrees around kickoff and then about 45 degrees by the time the game ends. The wind will be minimal at around 6 mph but there’s a 30-plus chance of precipitation. Could be a sloppy game.

Michigan State vs. Michigan series history

It’s been well-documented (by Michigan fans) that the series is sitting at 72-38-5 in favor of the Wolverines. But it’s been much more Michigan State-heavy over the past 15 years as the Spartans are 10-5 in that span. Since 1950 even, the series is much closer. Michigan won last year, but the Spartans won the previous two meetings as Mel Tucker finished 2-1 against Jim Harbaugh.

Prediction for Michigan State vs. Michigan

Honestly, I’m not even looking forward to this one. The Spartans are ice-cold this season and Michigan is on fire. It’s a recipe for disaster. Then you add in a first-time starting quarterback in a rivalry game with so-so weather against an elite defense and it could get ugly and sloppy. I’m going with Michigan by three scores, but the Spartans cover.

Prediction: Michigan 37, Michigan State 17
