Kenneth Walker III is flourishing in the NFL right now.

After a strong rookie season in which he rushed for over 1,000 yards and made a name for himself after replacing an injured Rashaad Penny, Walker is off to a hot start in year two.

The former Michigan State star and the best player from the Mel Tucker era has rushed for over 200 yards and four touchdowns through his first three games, leading Seattle to a 2-1 record. And it feels like he’s just getting started.

Following a two-touchdown performance to shock the Lions in Detroit in Week 2, Walker built on that and had two more touchdowns and 97 yards rushing in a Week 3 win over Carolina. He also added 56 receiving yards. Overall, he was the best player on the field for Seattle.

Apparently, he was the best offensive player in the NFC this past weekend, earning offensive player of the week honors.

It’s so easy to root for him, especially when he’s dominating at the next level similar to the way he dominated defenses at Michigan State.

Kenneth Walker III may be MSU’s best pro right now

When you think of the best NFL players to come out of Michigan State that are currently in the league, Kirk Cousins may be the first to come to mind. He’s been playing really well this year and deserves some respect despite the Vikings being 0-3.

However, Walker may be the most explosive player to come out of Michigan State and a guy who could legitimately be a top five player at his position sooner rather than later.

Cousins, on the other hand, has always been a top-15 guy. Walker can be a top-five guy.

It’s safe to say that Kenneth Walker III was the best thing to come from the Mel Tucker era at Michigan State which officially came to a close on Wednesday.
