I think Marshall fans are starting to realize that Charles Huff isn’t going to be around for a long time. They’re seeing that he’s a hot commodity when it comes to head coaching searches in the Power Five. They’re probably sick of hearing about Michigan State football fans’ interest in Huff.

Well, that won’t stop any time soon.

Huff’s Thundering Herd are 3-0 to start the season after picking up a 24-17 win over Virginia Tech in Week 4. Beating a Power Five team is a nice addition to an already impressive resume.

In about a year and a quarter, Huff is 12-4 with Marshall and it looks like the program is getting better and better under his guidance. His stock rose after that win over Virginia Tech because it’s not easy for a Group of Five team to beat a Power Five program and Huff made it look easy.

Huff is in just year two with Marshall, but his coaching prowess is obvious and it’s clear that he’s learned a ton from Nick Saban when he was on the Alabama staff.

Right now, Huff is up to No. 2 and pushing for the top spot in the power rankings.
