It’s been a whirlwind of a week for Michigan State football which, for the average fan, would seem like too much of a distraction before No. 8 Washington comes to town.

Actually, no one is giving the Spartans much of a chance against the Huskies.

It makes sense. Washington has one of the most explosive offenses in the country and a legit Heisman contender at quarterback, but Michigan State has nothing to lose and they’re going to leave it all on the field after an emotional week. Oh, and Mark Dantonio is back.

Let’s get bold ahead of a huge matchup on Saturday.

3. Defense picks Michael Penix Jr. off twice

Michael Penix Jr. has been a thorn in Michigan State’s side for years and he’s seemingly had a career game every time he faces the Spartans. He may put up yards on Saturday evening, but Michigan State is going to turn him over a couple of times.

I foresee two picks for the good guys on Saturday night in East Lansing, one in the first half by Dillon Tatum who has been playing really well this year, and another from Charles Brantley in the second half.

Only one other time in his Washington career has he thrown two interceptions in a game and that was last season against UCLA. He has only thrown nine interceptions in his career with the Huskies. He’ll reach double digits for his Washington career against the Spartans thanks to an aggressive defense, overlooked by Mark Dantonio.
