A couple of former Michigan State football players scored NFL preseason TDs
The second weekend of the NFL preseason is in the books and a couple of former Michigan State football players are making names for themselves.
Michigan State has sent a number of players to the NFL over the years and they’re all looking solid when it comes to making their respective rosters.
We’ve seen guys like Bryce Baringer, Ameer Speed, Ben VanSumeren, and Josh Butler step up and make plays during the preseason. Baringer is booting punts 60-plus yards, Speed is looking solid on special teams, VanSumeren is showing off his athleticism, and Butler had a highlight tackle for loss on Saturday night against Seattle.
A couple of other Spartans have made impacts as well. Two of them crossed the goal line during preseason play on Saturday night.
Jayden Reed, Connor Heyward reach the end zone
Through a couple of preseason games, Jayden Reed has looked like a budding star for the Packers. He’s not putting up monster numbers, but he’s now had two highlight receptions. Last week, it was a leaping catch for a first down and on Saturday, it was a 19-yard touchdown reception from Jordan Love.

If he continues to be sure-handed like this, he’s going to become a staple of that Green Bay offense.
As for Connor Heyward, he’s a lock to make the roster but he’s hoping to be a bigger part of the offense this season. He’s also sure-handed and caught a tough pass from Mitch Trubisky for six points on Saturday night.
Will we see another Spartan touchdown in the third week of preseason action?
