Michigan State football is getting closer and closer to kickoff.

The first game of the season is just over two weeks out and excitement is building. While the expectations aren’t as high as they were pre-2022, there’s a feeling out there that Michigan State could surprise some people if the talented roster lives up to its potential.

The other day, I selected my All-Big Ten candidates for MSU on the offensive side of the ball so it’s only right that I do the same for the defense.

Honorable mention: Khris Bogle, Jaden Mangham, Dillon Tatum, Darius Snow (if healthy)

Coming over from Texas A&M after playing sparingly over two years in College Station, Tunmise Adeleye is expecting to have a much larger role in East Lansing this year.

And he’s going to have one.

I see Adeleye starting along the defensive line and the former five-star is going to have a career season with Michigan State. He has just six total tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss in three career games, but those numbers are going to balloon this season. I’m expecting 30-40 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and five sacks. It’ll be a nice season for the transfer.

Will that be good enough to make an All-Big Ten team? I believe it’s at least good enough to make honorable mention, but he’ll be one of the biggest breakout stars in the conference this year.
