1. Gruff Sparty

Gruff Sparty was probably the most requested helmet decal by fans so it’s not a shocker that it’s the best alternate helmet maybe in all of college football.

Although, to be fair, you could slap a Gruff Sparty on a surfboard in December and my money can’t come out of my bank account fast enough. He’s mean muggin’, he’s too busy kicking butt to shave his stubble, and you know right then and there, you have messed with the wrong mascot.

There’s probably not a better alternate look in the Big Ten and although I may be biased, there are fans of other programs that would probably agree that Gruff Sparty is elite.
